Master Box 35252 1/35 Deadly Raid. British Commandos, Dieppe, 1942
The interest in the subject of the World War II is still high, and today's war in Ukraine gives a particular meaning to this kit, because almost all the most large-scale fighting of the summer of 1941 took place on the territory of Ukraine that was at that time one of the republics of the USSR.
The story of the kit refers to the initial period of the World War II, when a consolidated group of British and Canadian military men included 1000 British Commandos, supplemented by 50 American Rangers and 15 French volunteers. Overall, the Raid can be considered as an obvious failure. However, the assessment of the results of that Raid in different sources is given differently, so we share the point of view that the Dieppe Raid gave the Allied Forces invaluable experience in organizing large-scale landing operations and led to the successful landing operation in Normandy in 1944. The greatest success in that operation was achieved by the Commandos of the 4th Troop under the leadership of legendary Simon Fraser, better known as Lord Lovat. His Troop was the only one that fully completed the task.
The kit shows four Commandos from that Troop during the capture of the Hess battery. The kit contains a sprue with figures of four fighters.
The figures are made at a high artistic level, being actually a highly artistic miniature sculpture.
